Time to report on all the racing over the Festive period. If only there were a list based Christmas Carol that could be abridged and adapted for those purposes…
ON THE FIRST DAY OF CHRISTMAS, THE CLOWNIES RAN FOR FUN, A BRACE OF XMAS PARKRUNS
A strong Christmas Day CRR turn out at a busy Poolsbrook Parkrun merits a full listing. We were led home by Darren King’s 18:47; followed by Chris Amery 19:47; Steve Hattersley 22:09; Jordan Street 22:10; Paul Sadler 22:43; Paul Taylor 23:15; Matt Taylor 23:29; Hannah Sharpe 23:43; Lewis Banton 23:44; Neil Inns 24:09; Giles Searby 24:12; Chris Lindley 24:14; Andy Foster 26:14; Ian Rookes 26:23 (course PB); Tracey Jones 26:28; David Goater 26:28; Gillian Carter 26:56; Steve Carter 27:16 (course PB); Suzanne Leusby and Julie King 29:27; Jackie Rookes 29:51 (course PB); Megan Crofts 30:36 and Sally and Malc Ward 39:36. Lots of Xmas dinner set-off achieved there!
Meanwhile Richard Hind was further South running a hilly Tring Parkrun in 22:39.
ON THE SECOND DAY OF CHRISTMAS, THE CLOWNIES RAN FOR FUN, BRAITHWELL TURKEY TROT AND THE EAST HULL BOXING DAY RUN.
At the Turkey Trot, Jordan Street finished 6th in 26:01 and at the East Hull Boxing Day 10k Neil Yewman ran a 53:37.
ON THE FOURTH DAY OF CHRISTMAS, THE CLOWNIES RAN FOR FUN, FOUR PARKRUNS
Meanwhile at Rother Valley, Philip Morris was also first home in 17:07.
Mike Brown was tackling the steep climbs, boggy fields and slippery downhill of the Gainsborough Parkrun, which he finished in 23:48 for 3rd place overall and first Vet 45 (also inside the top 500 all time finish times for the course).
Down in Wales Michael and Sandra Lees were tackling the Dolgellau Parkrun which they finished in 28:29 and 37:13 respectively.
ON THE FOURTH DAY OF CHRISTMAS, THE CLOWNIES RAN FOR FUN, THE AMBLES REVENGE AND THE GERALD STORE
Y MEMORIAL RUN.
At the Ambles Revenge up in Oxspring, over the 8.1 mile course Philip Morris was first home for the CRR and 6th overall with his 55:51. Jordan Street was immediately behind him on 56:26 for 7th place and Richard Hind finished in 1:07:23.
Meanwhile at the Gerald Storey Memorial Race at Worksop over a course just short of 5 miles, Mike Brown was first home for CRR in 11th place in 33:05. Next home in 26th place was Giles Searby in 36:56. Annie Morton finished in 43:24 and Ricki Oscroft also 43:24.
ON THE EIGHTH DAY OF CHRISTMAS, THE CLOWNIES RAN FOR FUN, THE ANNUAL CHANCE TO DOUBLE PARKRUN
The majority of those doubling up started the day bright and early at Clumber Park where on the reverse course Jordan Street was first home for the Club in 20:02, followed by Steve Battle 20:11; Richard Hind 20:28; Mike Brown 20:46; Malc Stapleton 21:35; Dan Keeling 22:00; David Hazelton 22:17; Giles Searby 23:59; Ellis Hewitt 28:35; Dave Elsom 29:13; Jackie Robson 29:29; SJ Massingham 29:41; Kim Abbott 30:05; Graham Sheen 30:10; Gemma Hind 31:56; Dave Keeling 35:42; Julie Keeling 35:43 and Lynn Hazelton 38:01.
The second Parkrun of the day for some (or first for those needing a lie-in) was at Poolsbrook and again deserves a full run down. Tom Topham was first home for CRR in 18:16 and a course PB. Following him in were, John Sanderson in 18:56; Pete Twigg 18:57; Jordan Street 19:25; Chris Amery 19:41 and Malc Stapleton 21:19.
Helen Lindley’s 21:25 was a PB and earns her a Club Bronze Standard. Adrian Kirkham celebrated his 50th Parkrun with a nice round 22:00.
