Welcome to the Clowne Road Runners website where we hope you will find all the
information you need about our running club.
The club welcomes all abilities from 15 years upwards both men and ladies. Our training night is on a Thursday starting at 7.00pm with a varying schedule from track sessions to organised training runs led by our team of trained coaches. Please check the website or our Facebook page for the latest information. The training sessions are designed to accommodate your running level, with the vision to help you improve to achieve a new PB, personal running goal or a club standard.
Once you have attained your first standard there will be no stopping you, and each year at our club presentation evening, your annual achievement rewards are presented in front of your running colleagues.
We have an annual Grand Prix with all members encouraged to take part in the chosen races throughout the year kicking off with the inter club x-country series in January between local running clubs; Clowne, Retford, Worksop, Killamarsh and Handsworth.
The club enjoys taking part in team relay events; Round Rotherham Relay and Belper River Relay being two of these which allows for club members of all abilities to take part.
Clowne Road Runners have a family ethos and regularly hold get together and social events at Clowne Community Centre, our official home and runners families are made welcome.
Two local races are organised by Clowne Road Runners; Elmton Chase, a 5 mile trail race in June and Clowne Half Marathon in November attracting over 700 runners from all over the UK. These raise important funds for the club and provide an opportunity for you to get
involved with marshalling and being part of the organising team.
The first Friday in each month we hold a members meeting at the Clowne Community Centreat 7.30pm, here club business is discussed, and grand prix race results are distributed alongwith news of any forthcoming events.
