Clowne Half Marathon was the predominant focus

It’s stating the bleeding obvious, but Clowne Half Marathon was the predominant focus for the Club this week and another mammoth effort by all involved, in a myriad of roles, resulted in another fantastic event - plus hopefully a new world record - and sure we’ll be seeing the race hoodies all over the place in the coming months.

Just a few other results to mention away from the Half. Friday evening here, but Saturday morning in NZ, Jim McIntosh was Parkrunning in the sunshine in Tauranga, where he finished in 29:59. 🇳🇿

At a rather cooler Rother Valley Parkrun, there were PBs for Jackie Rookes with a 27:16 finish and for Steve Carter with his 27:17.

A mention too for Craig Lockett and Craig Brooks who both raised the golden baton for their Parkrun centuries at Poolsbrook.

At Sunday’s Doncaster 10K, Tom Topham scored a Club Silver Standard with his 37:32 run in his first race in a CRR vest. Dawn Brooks came in on 54:28 and Craig Brooks finished in 55:24.

Back to the Clowne Half, where first home for the Club was John Sanderson in 1:23:25. Alex Glossop finished in 1:43:22, Kerry Anderson 1:59:13 and Christian Hopkins in 2:02:47. Ian Rookes came in on 2:04:00.

The rest of our runners were all sporting their tutus as part of the MNDA team fundraising, with Bridget Hemstock, Suzanne Leusby and Katy Taylor crossing the line together in 2:15:03; Paddy Abbott 2:15:05 followed by Kim Abbott completing her first half marathon in 2:18:39 alongside Ellis Hewitt on the same mark.

Well done all!
