This was the week when CRR said – “Eliud, Brigid - hold our beer!”
We start on Friday night at the Hairy Scary Helmet Relay Race where our 2 teams of Suzanne and Tayla Leusby, Louise and Freya Lowe, Sarah Street Rose, Tanya Beighton and Lynn Hazelton completed the 4x3km relays in 1:27:48.
Even farther afield at the Seattle Half Marathon, John Sanderson came in 2nd place in 1:22:30 and a Club Silver Standard and Kerry Anderson finished in 1:52:55 and a Club Bronze Standard. Both were running their first race in CRR colours 🇺🇸.

Last, but very much not least, to the Yorkshire Marathon in York and an awe-inspiring set of CRR results.
Darren King finished 17th and 2nd MV50 in a 2:32:05 PB. Chris Adams, in his first race for CRR, finished in 2:35:25, a PB and Club Gold Standard time. We can’t wait for your second race Chris!
Matt Martin finished his first marathon in 2:51:39 which earns him a Club Silver Standard. Michael Brown finished his first marathon in 3:46:49 and Andy Harris finished in a 13 minute PB time of 3:47:24.
Julie King scored a marathon PB with her 3:56:42 👏. Jo Johnson achieved a PB and Club Bronze standard with her 3:58:03 finish.
Finally, John Bingham wrote of marathon racing that - “The miracle isn't that I finished. The miracle is that I had the courage to start." So big kudos to Malc Ward for battling some niggles and race demons for his 4:07:01 finish and to Steve Hattersley who ground out his 4:36:44, having suffered a debilitating injury recurrence at the 10 mile mark.
Well done all!
