One of the busiest racing Sundays for a while

Before you know it, September is here and it’s away with the flip-flops and out with the bed-socks!

There was though plenty of lacing up of running shoes, for what was one of the busiest racing Sundays for a while.

Before that, on Saturday at a flat Bassingham Bash 5 mile race, Steve Tebb achieved a Club Bronze Standard finish with his time of 34:30.

Meanwhile, at the Longshaw Sheepdog Trials Fell Race over a 5.4 mile course, Richard Hind finished in 55:15.

Sunday and we’ll start at the Crew 20 Mile race where first home for CRR in 5th place overall was Darren King in 1:59:13 – 1st V50 and cementing his place as the UK’s fastest aged 50 runner.

Behind him and 1st V45 was Gareth Lowe in 2:01:44.
Steve Hattersley came in on 2:48:22 and Julie King and Jo Johnson crossed the line together in 3:14:28.

Wilne 10K, a busy but flat, 2 lap course, was the latest race in the Club Grand Prix.
A very well supported race – which did mean that the queue for the toilets was only outdone by the queue to cross the start-line and start some weaving! The CRR results were:

Matt Martin – 35:24 – Distance PB by just over 1 minute

Dan Harpham – 41:37

Mark Waller – 43:59 – Distance PB

Ian Brookes – 45:54

Lewis Banton – 46:40

Hannah Sharpe – 46:42

Neil Yewman – 47:10 – Distance PB

Paul Taylor – 47:45

Malc Ward – 48:44 and a Club Bronze Standard

Giles Searby – 49:02 – Distance PB by just over 2 minutes

Allison Preece – 53:00

Matt Taylor – 53:24

Ellis Hewitt – 56:10

Bridget Hemstock – 56:44

Michael Burr – 57:31

David Johnson – 57:31

Nicky Searby – 1:05:39

At Sherwood Pines 10K Paddy Abbott scored a PB with his 51:47.
Annie Morton finished in 52:47; Ian Rookes 59:35 and Jackie Rookes – 1:04:32.

Finally, there seems to be a delay on Bolsover Hill Race Results – probably due to deciding where to classify Steve Tebb in his tutu!
We’ll pick up those results next week.

Well done all!
