Junior Section of Clowne Road Runners

The club is thinking about starting a junior section of CRR for 12-18 year old children. The aim is to provide an opportunity for young people to get into running for physical and mental health, aiming to progress them up to the adult club.
The sessions for the junior section will be run on a different night and by different coaches to those who do track.
The junior section participate in a junior grand prix with events such as junior XC in winter and Parkruns and fun runs in the summer.
The sessions will cover a range of abilities from competitive to running for fun.

We are initially gathering interest and are looking for members with sustained interest in being involved with a Junior Section of the Club. This will come in the form of:
qualifying as a running leader and then coach to lead the sessions (aiming to get 3 or 4)
anyone who would be interested in volunteering to support the coaches (young people can use towards Duke of Edinburgh awards etc)
the Club will also be looking to fulfil a male and female Welfare Officer which will cover the potential Junior section and the club as a whole.
Any ideas for the format of this junior section
if you know of any young people that would want to attend the junior section

We are wanting to hold an initial thoughts and discussion meeting before the next general meeting on July 12th starting at 6:30 pm at the community centre. Please attend the meeting should this be of interest or if you want to find out more, as we want to see if there is sufficient interest from our membership.

If people could email me (han5678@hotmail.co.uk) to confirm who is planning on attending so we get a rough idea of initial interest.
