This week saw the end of the Spring Marathon season

This week saw the end of the Spring Marathon season with the running festivals in Liverpool and Edinburgh featuring highly alongside the usual eclectic mix of racing!

Tuesday’s Totley Moor fell race saw Lewis Banton finish 8th in 46:35; Jordan Street 49:25; Ian Brookes 1:04:50 and Hannah Sharpe 1:06:06.

Some impressive Parkrun results from Saturday begin at Bakewell where Paul Taylor’s 21:59 PB also earned him a Club Silver Standard. Matt Taylor also achieved a PB with his 22:17. At Rother Valley, Matt Martin achieved a 17:19 PB and Nick Roberts an 18:47 PB.

Over in Liverpool, Saturday’s 5K saw Steve Tebb finish in 22:43 and Lindsay Baker in 27:01. At the Edinburgh 10K, Giles Searby finished in 51:39.

  Sunday starts with Neil Yewman’s 1:52:21 at a wet Buxton HM. Giles Searby finished the similarly soggy Edinburgh HM in 2:04:57.

In Liverpool, at the HM, Lindsay Baker came in on 2:58:19 alongside Lynn Hazelton, both pacing a friend to her first HM finish.

In the Marathons, over in Liverpool, Steve Tebb came in on 3:43:55 and up in Edinburgh, Jo Johnson beat the wind and rain to achieve a 50 minute PB coming in on 4:04:58. David Johnson also ran the anchor leg of a 4 Leg Relay team in the Hairy Haggis Challenge over the marathon course.

At the Speke Trust 10K Nick Roberts scored a 40:31.

In Monday’s Bamford Sheepdog Trials Fell Race, Richard Hind finished in 42:50 and at the Vitality 10,000 in London Darren McQuaide finished in 42:08.

Finally, over at St Quentin, France, John Proffitt completed L’Holman 9K Trail Race on 1:04:58 and John Rust in 1:00:24.
