Another busy week of racing and there’s an exotic feel to this week’s report, with results coming in from Hungary, Latvia and of course... Askern!
The only place to start though is with Steve Battle’s completion on Wednesday of the 6 Day EMU World Trophy Race at Balatonfured, Hungary. Over the course of the race, battered by gales and rain, Steve clocked up a mind-boggling 322 miles, which also earns him a Club Gold Award.
Meanwhile, some mere mortals were taking on the latest race in our Grand Prix calendar on a warm evening at Askern 10k. CRR results were:

Up in Northumbria, at the Les Alcorn 10K, Michael Lees finished in 53:55 and Sandra Lees 1:10:24.
Tansley Hill Fell Race
On Thursday, at the Tansley Hill Fell Race, Jordan Street finished in 9th place in 40:22 and Ian Brookes 69th place in 50:27.
To Saturday’s Parkruns, and at Rother Valley Neil Yewman scored a PB and Club Bronze Standard with a 22:45 finish. At Poolsbrook, Matt Martin pulled out another PB and a winning finish with his 17:38. Sally Cocking also achieved a course PB of 30:45.
The popular 10-mile Derwent Dambuster Race saw Paul Levitt finish in 1:12:56; Hannah Sharpe in a 1:15:36 PB finish and First Lady finisher. Matt Taylor finished with a 10-minute PB of 1:19:20 and finishing on the same mark was Paul Taylor, which scored him a PB and a Club Bronze Standard.
The Hathersage Hurtle is a 20-mile race of hills, great scenery and good cake which Michelle Needham richly deserved after her 3:12:00 finish.
White Peak Half Marathon
At the hilly White Peak Half Marathon, Paddy Abbot finished in a 1:59:21 PB.
Steve Tebb completed the 7.75 miles of the Carsington 7 in 1:07:38.
Mount Famine Fell race
Also in the Peaks, Richard Hind raced the Mount Famine Fell race, a 5.2 mile course around Hayfield with some sharp ups and downs, coming in on 1:08:25.
Riga Half Marathon
Finally, it’s Latvia calling and douze points to Andrea Walker for completing a very hot Riga Half Marathon in 1:53:27.
