For anyone who stayed awake long enough on Saturday night, the achievement of the weekend must go to Callum Hawkins for his 4th place finish in the World Championships Marathon in Doha. Most of us can but dream of cutting through the field in the last quarter of a marathon like he did – only to be denied a medal by being out-sprinted in the final run-in.
Back to CRR, and with a few honourable exceptions, it seems to have been largely the Vet categories out there this week!
First, Steve Battle has been over in the Czech Republic where he finished the Prague 10K in 43:22, coming 37th out of a team of 135 railway employees.
It was October Parkrun Competition time on Saturday and so, as usual, there were some strong performances to report.
