This week it was welcome to the good old British Summer proper and so we had a week that featured both the hottest day of the year and the wettest!<\/p>\n

Run reports are unsurprisingly a bit thinner on the ground this week too, but still some notable performances to report.<\/p>\n

On Thursday Ellis Hewitt was at the Brassington Hill Race and finished the 4.5 mile course in 51:44.<\/p>\n

At the Newstead Abbey Dash on Friday, Matt Taylor achieved a new 5K PB of 22:11.<\/p>\n

Poolsbrook Parkrun saw Matt Martin as first finisher with a course PB of 17:34.<\/p>\n

Louise Lowe, Julie Keeling and Steve Battle spent a wet and muddy Saturday night running in the Manvers Dusk till Dawn Race. This race consists of running as many 3.2 mile laps in the Dearne Valley as you can between 6pm and 6am. Louise and Julie completed 6 loops, totalling 19.2 miles, whilst Steve Battle completed a dizzying 17 laps totalling 54.5 miles!<\/p>\n

Well done all!<\/p>\n

Finally, one club member has been in all our thoughts this week and everyone at the Club sends their deepest condolences to Bridget Hemstock and her family on the passing of Lorna. In run report terms she ran a hell of a race and overcame a lot of obstacles along the way, so clearly merits her own mention.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

It is heartening to see that the fundraising in her name is going so well, after many Club members either attended or contributed to the MNDA Coffee Morning on Saturday and we will all look to build on that total going forward to the Clowne Half Marathon for which MNDA is the nominated charity.<\/p>\n
